Big Data Bootcamp
The Big Data Bootcamp class is geared to expose curious and independent learners to python, basic data science, and machine learning techniques. We introduce the python language, general programming principles, important libraries and tools, and basic ML algorithms. We’ve designed the topics to be accessible to all levels.
BDB combines a combination of zoom “lectures” and mini-projects, all based on a series of Google Colab notebooks. The goal is to give students enough information and exposure to each topic so that they feel comfortable using the tech and have a base to expand upon. By the end of the course, participants will have created a reusable Github repo with all the notes and code. Data science is a massive field, but this course is designed to lay the groundwork for furthering the interest to keep learning.
How To: Capture the Flag 101
This information workshop introduces the concept of cybersecurity and Capture the Flag competitions. We discuss how CTFs can be used as a viable learning tool for organizations and education professionals who want to introduce an audience to the world of Cybersecurity.
We will breakdown cyber terminology, the importance of promoting cyber-centric learning, and explaining how a CTF works as a learning tool.
At the end of the 1 hours workshop, we will culminate with a “mini” CTF to give the participants an interactive experience with the competition platform.
This workshop can be done in person or through a virtual webinar.
