These workshops and bootcamps are positioned as entry-level beginner classes to appeal to the widest possible population of our community. Our offerings change frequently to keep pace with the ever-evolving technological standards.
Gaming Development
MAGIC partners with a professional game developer to offer game development classes for students interested in coding and developing their own video games. Our gaming courses utilize Unity and C#.

Intro to 2D Game Development
13 week course offer several times a year.
A practical introduction to game design. Utilizing industry standards, the class teaches the basics of game design and emphasizes the use of basic design tools. Participants will work to outline, design, implement and test their 2D rolling game. This course kickstarts the students’ skill base to further their understanding of the design and build lifecycle.
Students will gain an introduction to:
- C# Programming
- Unity Platform
- Game Design Workflow
- Managing Game Development in Unity
- Implement 2D Character Animation Trees
- Creating Story Through Gameplay
- Adding Sound and Lighting to the Level
- Creating Player Health and Damage UI
- Design and Development of a 2D SideScroller level
Intro to 3D Game Development
13 week course offer several times a year.
This course will build on the skills learned in the Intro to 2D Game Development class. However, students with a basic understanding of the Unity editor are welcome to join.
Students will gain further understanding of an introduction to:
- C# Programming for 3D
- Using the Unity 3D development environment
- Creating complex dungeon pieces from art primitives
- Dungeon elements such as corridors, rooms, stairways and traps
- Populating the Dungeon with props and furniture such as torches, chains and tables.
- Lighting and sound
- 3D Character Health and Damage UI
- Design and Development of a Dungeon Level
Intro to AI Game Development
13 week course offered several times a year in conjunction with our Intro course.
This class requires completion of the Intro 3D Game Development class or equivalent knowledge with C# and the Unity 3D development environment.
Students will gain further understanding of an introduction to:
- C# programming for 3D
- Creating simple AI with Unity
- Trigger enemy animations
- Script NPCs to enable behaviors such as patrolling, following the player, and attacking the player.
This class will teach the basics of including AI elements in a video game in Unity. Create AI enemies for more fun, challenging and engaging gameplay.

SOS(Senior Online Safety)
This 1.5 hour online safety workshop will help seniors(50+) navigate the digital world. We have a series of subjects that will help seniors understand email security, the pitfall of web browsing, connecting with social media , spotting scams & phishing emails, We will also explore all the cool and helpful stuff available on the internet.
Data Care for Small Business
Small businesses who want to safeguard their data and resources can benefit from our series of workshops tailored to you. Topics will include: Domain and cloud security, simple low cost options to help protect your critical data, and the basics of your online security.
Cyber Series
This series of workshops will give individuals insight into cyber related tools and topics. Python programming basics, Understanding Kali Linux, and the basics of online security.

How To: Capture the Flag 101
This information workshop introduces the concept of cybersecurity and Capture the Flag competitions. We discuss how CTFs can be used as a viable learning tool for organizations and education professionals who want to introduce an audience to the world of Cybersecurity.
We will breakdown cyber terminology, the importance of promoting cyber-centric learning, and explaining how a CTF works as a learning tool.
At the end of the 1 hours workshop, we will culminate with a “mini” CTF to give the participants an interactive experience with the competition platform.
This workshop can be done in person or through a virtual webinar.
