About MAGIC

The Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory, Inc. (MAGIC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Westminster, Maryland. Our mission is to build and sustain an ecosystem that maximizes Westminster’s gigabit infrastructure to drive high-technology innovation, education, and incubation. As the only organization in the region providing advanced science and technology enrichment and business incubation at low or no cost, we serve more than 800 residents annually, ranging from students and entrepreneurs to small business owners and nonprofits.

Our Mission & Vision

By increasing the depth and diversity of the tech ecosystem, MAGIC creates opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship, engaging stakeholders from business, workforce, and education sectors. We call our model ‘Silicon Main Street,’ which advocates for Westminster as the ideal home for startups, and illustrates how it offers the assets that attract high-tech businesses and industrial employers, and high-paying jobs. Though rural counties like this one often find themselves siloed in their larger state economies and have historically experienced migration out of their communities as residents seek opportunity, MAGIC works to reverse this trend, strengthening Westminster’s role as a leading technology hub in the Mid-Atlantic.
