MAGIC hosts several logo contests per year for our popular technology events. This opportunity is for graphic design students who are interested in branding design. We are looking for designs that work well as both a full-color and single-color designs.
Winning designer/design will receive a $100 Amazon gift card and their work professionally published on our marketing materials and printed on our competition T-shirts. This is a great resume and portfolio builder for the winner of the contest.

HACKATHON Guidelines
Our annual hackathon takes place in the spring and is a technology “Build an app in a weekend” event.
Design requirements are as follows:
- Limit of 3 design options per artist entry
- Submit a PDF document with your design options. Include your designs in a full color and black & white version. Each entry should be a separate page in the PDF file.
- The submitted file name should be as follows: Hackathon_firstname_lastname.pdf
- The design must incorporate somewhere in the design the MAGIC word mark logo. The logo can be downloaded from our website Media Kit page. It doesn’t need to be front and center, but visible in the design.
- The design must have the event date present: It can be in any date format that is complementary to the design.
- There is no restriction or requirement on color scheme, but the design should also be viable as a black and white option.
The winning submission will be required to submit a full file zip package including the following file types: ai, eps, png. The winner will also be required to submit graphic guidelines including font types used, color hex codes, etc.
The winning artist will be required to sign an Artist Release form and the submission will become the intellectual property of Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory.

This cybersecurity competition logo contest is available in the spring and the fall and is currently open for submissions.
The winning logo will be determined up to a week after submission deadline and the designer will be notified via email at that time.
