Throughout my career I kept coming across organizations who struggled when it came to being cyber secure. The traditional consulting model doesn’t provide enough value. Relying mostly on point-in-time assessments leaves organizations with a long list of things to fix. Most of the time, there isn’t anyone dedicated to addressing the problems. To make things worse, the cost of the accumulated technical debt means companies are left exposed. The whole thing just doesn’t make sense.I founded Secureside to solve this problem with one primary objective: make organizations cyber secure. Not “advise companies on how to be secure” or “do a few projects here and there.” Those ways do not work. What is required to be successful is leadership, tactical controls, project management, specialized skills, and, above all, a team you can trust. This is SecuresideAs an active CISO at multiple organizations,

I started my career as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin, where I lead a few different product teams over five years, including an infrastructure cybersecurity team, and a DevSecOps team. During my time with the latter, I worked to integrate DAST, SAST, SCA, SBOMs, and other tool sets into a common solution that is used by a number of different programs today. Earlier this year, I moved into venture capital, taking a role as an analyst at a cybersecurity-focused firm called DataTribe, where I support multiple portfolio companies in the DevSecOps space. I’m also a Captain in the Marine Corps Reserves, where I work with the Marine Innovation Unit to solve technical challenges throughout the Marine Corps.
