Technology Education
MAGIC is supporting the tech ecosystem by building relationships between the educational institutions in Carroll County, the tech community, corporate partners, and local government. These programs work to provide an environment of discovery, skill building, and experiences for individuals interested in building technology skills.
These secondary learning opportunities are available for grades 3-12, and young adults looking to upscales their skills.
Autonomous Robotics Innovation Center (ARIC)
Through its Autonomous Robotics Innovation Center (ARIC), MAGIC delivers hands-on robotics programs for elementary, middle , and high schoolers using industry current technology. These programs foster technical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. MAGIC utilizes small batch classes and hands-one curriculum to sustain high-quality, inclusive STEM learning opportunities for Westminster’s diverse youth.
Core Learning Pillars
MAGIC focuses on 3 educational pathways. Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, and STEM related studies. We have determined that these three foundational paths will help to prepare a students for a bright future in technology.
Cybersecurity
Our cybersecurity tech experience encourages students to strengthen their interest in the cybersecurity industry. Our flagship event, Capture the Flag is a bi-yearly event, offered to beginner level students in April and October.
Entrepreneurship
The STEP Challenge is an exciting, fun, and intense experience where people design, build, and pitch a technology based app solution. These apps may change the world or maybe just change Carroll County.
This annual event happens in February.
STEM
MAGIC provides a wide range of STEM learning experiences using robotics as our foundation. Using robots allows us to provide a wide range of teaching opportunities in the areas of engineering, electronics, and software development. We also work to build soft skills like teamwork, communications, positive attitudes.
