Introduction to Game Development

An Entry Level Course in Game Development Using Unity and C# for participants ages 12+

Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory, Inc (MAGIC), is partnering with a professional game developer to offer game development classes for students interested in coding and developing their own video games.

Students will have completed a playable level of their very own video game — designed and scripted by them!

August 10 – November 4, 2020
13 Week Course – 2 days per week – 2 hours per class Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00pm -6:00pm
Virtual Class utilizing Zoom
$350 per student

Mick MancusoMick Mancuso has been in the game industry since 1988. During his career, he worked on games as a programmer, designer, level designer, writer, voice actor, producer and teacher. Game genres worked on include RTS, Flight Simulators, Giant Mech Simulators, FPS, RPG and puzzle games. Companies include Strategic Simulations, Spectrum HoloByte, MicroProse, Hasbro Interactive, Microsoft and EA. Some of his more notable work includes games for Mechwarrior, Command & Conquer, and Lord of the Rings.

In addition to Entertainment games, he’s worked with military and financial institutions to create training games for the US Infantry, the Singapore Armed Forces and the FDIC.

Lately, he has been teaching up and coming developers in level design, design scripting a production. He taught at The Guildhall of Southern Methodist University and was the Program Chair for Game Development at SAE Expression College in Emeryville, CA.

We have a limited amount of laptops available for loan during the 13 week course.  When registering, please select Need a Laptop on your form.  We will contact you to verify availability.  Laptops are on a first come basis.
